Thank you, teacher!

Hi everyone!

Hope you're all enjoying Summer (or Winter, depending on where you are...)!
Today was a perfect Summer day here in BC, Canada. Not too hot, a lot of sunshine and a couple clouds... The perfect weather for spending a couple hours in my strawberry patch today, taking out the never-ending grass while picking those yummylicious red berries! Can you believe I picked about 6 lbs!! And it's only been a couple days since I last picked a bunch.
So guess what we've been eating all day? LOL! And there are still soooo many left, I guess I'll have to make a strawberry pie or something tomorrow! Yummmm...

So Summer vacation is here and it's time to wind down and relax a little. Although it also means spending more time with my daughter and less time in my crafty room... But my 7-year old is still easy to please, thank goodness! Nothing like a "surprise" picnic in the backyard and a water/sprinkler fight! :)

I still have pics to show you of the cards and stuff I've made as a "thank you" for my daughter's teacher.

Here's the card I made. It's a little different than my usual cards as it had to be a more "masculine" card for a male teacher.
I used "Tilda with glasses" because she looks just like my daughter :)
Thanks again, Lisa, for sending me a couple stamped images of this sweet Tilda!!

Materials used:

Paper for stamping: Neenah Classic Crest Solar White #80
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, colored in with Copics
Stamps: Magnolia (Tilda with glasses and School Desk), sentiment is from Stampin'Up!
Cardstock: Bazzill Basics
Patterned paper: We R Memory Keepers (Grandma's Kitchen line)
Twill ribbon: Close To My Heart
Brads: Close To My Heart
Tools: circle punches and spiral border punch Stampin'Up!, machine stitching

Sorry, I was in a hurry and forgot to make note of the Copic colors I used... :(

I also made a little matching gift card holder...

Unfortunately, I ran out of time and didn't get to finish the set of notecards I was making... Instead, I spend my time making a little memory book for the teacher (from the kids)... Here it is... (I used the same line of papers... LOVE them! Great for a male teacher!)

The inner "flap" holds a DVD that one of the other moms had made, with pictures of the kids and a short movie. (Thanks, Sara! Great job!!)
I guess the DVD and the little poem made the teacher a little emotional, although he tried very hard not to show :)

The pocket holds a gift certificate.

Well, that's it for now... Hopefully I will be able to find some time to spend in my craftroom in the next week or so (read: hopefully my DD will let me play in my room for a bit without interrupting every 3 minutes or so! LOL!)

See ya'll soon!

Hugz,
Irma

Wow!! Irma, I am blown away by this beautiful work. The paper selection, your coloring, all the things you thought to add to that adorable album. Can you give us a little more info. on that album? Was it made from scratch by you? Or bought in unfinished form, and you added your beautiful touches? Great job on the whole project.
